Derangement in the era of Trump goes both ways.
This article is from The Editor’s Corner, with insights, short-posts, links, and general ramblings from Editor/Owner Justin Stapley.
There are two strains of Trump Derangement Syndrome, and I get assaulted by those who have it every day. I neither think Trump is a cataclysm, nor am I blind to the mistakes he makes. But, because I call balls and strikes, many conservatives and Republicans simply write me off as suffering from TDS.
So, here are some inconvenient facts for those whose unqualified support of Donald Trump has led them to abandon reason for madness:
America should have never become a focal point for COVID-19. We had ample warning to take it seriously and the President and his enablers ignored those warnings. Now, we face the risk of an added surge because common-sense measures that can be voluntarily followed are ignored as a form of virtue signaling on the Right.
The President has failed to lead on this and many other issues, and he has only torn the nation further apart. This is reality. This isn’t me being deranged. It’s calling balls and strikes as I see them.
For those who feel the need to disregard my perspective by chalking it up to deranged hatred of Trump, who cannot deal with my viewpoint as a legitimate philosophical position, you are simply demonstrating the insecurity of your own Trump-supporting derangement.
