Flipping narratives is part of my fundamental vision for The Liberty Hawk.
This is an Editor’s Corner article, taken from a segment of the October 26th issue of the From the Hawk’s Nest Newsletter.
The country is split down the middle, with each side almost wholly entrapped in a controlled narrative. This reality is easy to discern but seemingly impossible to disentangle.
As we saw with Democrats in the Kavanaugh hearing and with Republicans engaging in similar theatrics to disrupt the impeachment process, the discovery of truth too often takes a back seat to the demands of narrative and the need to perform for the partisan audience.
Throughout its existence, The Liberty Hawk has taken some flak for “giving safe harbor to the ideas of the enemy,” as one comment asserts on Facebook or for “Being pro-Democrat bots,” as another asserted. On the other end of the spectrum, The Liberty Hawk is often accused of only half-abandoning the Trumpist GOP, apparently in the belief that the only sure path to principled conservatism is to abandon conservatism altogether.
All of these responses only demonstrate how difficult it is for those who have wrapped themselves in the thick blanket of confirmation bias to comprehend those who operate outside the bounds of partisan and media narrative.
Here at The Liberty Hawk, I have rejected the idea that we must choose between pseudo-truths. I search for eternal truth and voice my opinions and beliefs without fear, even when they are unpopular or when they run counter to what so many have convinced themselves is the truth.
So far, I’ve been blessed to find many readers and a growing list of contributors that have been looking for a platform that does exactly what I have endeavored for it to do: flip narratives, tear down shibboleths, and cut through the fog of bias and disinformation.
Hopefully, we’re just getting started.
