A few pointers on submissions from owner/editor Justin Stapley:

  1. Completed article submissions are preferred
  2. Include in the email subject line the title of your article and whether it is opinion, or news commentary.
  3. For editorial submissions try not to exceed 1500 words (shoot for 1000). Exceptions can be made based on the quality of the piece.
  4. For news submissions try to be brief. Only go over 500 words if you really have to. Again, exceptions can be made to this based on quality.
  5. Include your name or desired pseudonym as well as a bio at the end of the article. Feel free to include links to personal blogs, social media accounts, etc. The backlinks are on me.
  6. Important: Cash on hand is currently limited, I won’t be able to pay you for your writing. Since I can’t pay you for your work, you get to still own your work. Feel free to put it on another website or try to syndicate it, I’ll take the SEO hit. If ever you want your content removed from The Liberty Hawk or if you want to edit or update your content, feel free to discuss it with me.
  7. As owner/editor, I will make edits to your content as it appears on the site but I promise restraint. I will also routinely add editor’s notes at the bottom of articles to both offer some insight as well as hopefully encourage conversation on the topic.
  8. Submissions that include inflammatory rhetoric, hate speech, or incitements to break the law, engage in violence, or seek the overthrow of the American government will not be published on this website. Additionally, in order to combat false information and fake news regarding the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, all articles related to the pandemic must be meticulously referenced
  9. I have created this site to provide a platform for liberty-minded conservatives, a viewpoint and perspective which I feel is increasingly not represented in popular politics or popular media. This means there are going to be articles and opinions here which can diverge considerably from the narratives and talking points that have come to dominate both sides of the political divide. If you read something you disagree with, don’t denounce or engage in the typical psychological projection of our time, counter it with your own thought out and well-articulated opinion.
  10. Submissions are welcome from the broad spectrum of center-right politics. This is a platform, not a safe space. From libertarians to neocons, feel free to share your views.
