The system, the presidency, the supreme court, the electoral process…

We keep blaming everything for our problems but ourselves. We keep expecting anything but a New American Renaissance of liberty-minded & freedom-oriented thought to provide an easy path out of dysfunction.

There’s no top-down fix for America’s problems, no trickle-down principle that magically instills civility, civic virtue, and republican principles simply by kicking the mean bully out of the house he should never have been given the key to.

We need to reinvigorate the principles of the founding, re-establish constitutional norms, and re-assert the foundational values of a healthy republic, citizen by citizen, and heart by heart.

The country will not be saved nor destroyed by a presidential election. The future of the republic depends upon the foundation it stands upon.

If the foundations of our nation are crumbling, it’s not because of who sits in the White House. It’s because too many Americans have embraced a narrative of fear and anxiety and set aside the principles of our founding as inconvenient to the dangers they feel this moment holds.

I have no vastly endowed bank account, no mighty army of followers, and very little in the way of merits or achievement. I have only my name, my word, and my principles with which to fight.

I will not, I cannot, lay the only weapons I have on the altar of jaded victory. I need them for the real fight. I need them in my efforts to save the heart and soul of America.
