When fueled by an agitated sense of social injustice, class and ethnic consciousness can become the greatest threats to a free society.

In May of 2018, I was deep in the pages of Jonah Goldberg’s Suicide of the West. My article for the Federalist Coalition, linked below, was only one of several writings I penned that were inspired by Jonah’s timely and valuable book.
In the article, I make an argument that, while it is natural to be conscious of our economic realities and to associate chiefly with those whose ethnic and cultural backgrounds match our own, we should be careful not to let these sources of identity overwhelm and drown America’s civic culture of freedom, liberty, and justice for all.
