You know what, I think I should open this article by saying something nice about Democrats. No, I’m being 100% serious. Â
At the most recent debate, Senator Elizabeth Warren made a great point about how making abortion illegal only really stops abortion for poor women. This, of course, is easily proven correct. Mind you, poor women represent the vast majority of those getting abortions, so the numbers are kind of skewed, but I have seen some evidence of this. Â
Fair is fair, of course, and abortion restrictions have been shown to cause abortion rates to go down both in those areas and overall. However, if a poor woman and a rich woman want an abortion but live in an area where it’s restricted or downright illegal, the poor woman is much more likely to give up or go to the back alley while the rich woman can just go to a pro-choice area of the country. Â
Cory Booker makes the same easily proven point about marijuana. Hunter S. Thompson, Snoop Dog, Bill Maher, George Clooney, Lady Gaga, Steve Jobs, Martha Stewart; the amount of rich people who smoke pot when it’s illegal but don’t get arrested seems endless. You go to prison; they go to rehab. Â
However, both of these candidates are also giant proponents of tax increases. Elizabeth Warren is the creator of the wealth tax (which could cause a rich person to pay more in taxes than they earn that year). Cory Booker raised taxes 20% as mayor of Newark and plans to tax carbon emissions. Â
This leads me to the biggest hypocrisy of every Democrat up on stage: if every law will be ignored by the rich, why won’t they effectively ignore laws that impact their wallet? Do they really think the rich, who they constantly call greedy, care less about how much cash they have than about getting high? Â
If Elizabeth Warren really expects the rich to pay this wealth tax, she should really study up on the Laffer Curve. One of the main reasons tax revenue goes down as tax rates go up is because the rich start moving money to more business-friendly countries, hence why the government loses revenue.  Â
Warren and Booker are either being dishonest or are just naive. Although maybe that’s the best way to describe all 2020 Democrats. I guess they fit right in.Â

Under the wealth tax you will see plenty of people assessed to be millionaires and billionaires.
These people will disproportionately be members of the political party not on power.
