Across the length and breadth of the internet, in Twitter and Facebook timelines, on blogs, and right-leaning media outlets, supporters and defenders of Donald Trump have reacted to the idea of war with Iran with almost joyful pro-war jingoism.  

The enthusiasm almost seems like a transplant from the current build-up to the Super Bowl, with “Iran’s going down” messages thrown around as if Trump were a quarterback throwing footballs instead of a commander-in-chief dropping bombs.

And all of this stands in stark contrast to the peacenik posturing we saw from these very same Trump supporters not so long ago as they defended Trump’s abandonment of our Kurdish allies. So much for #EndEndlessWars.
